1. Windows Video/Graphics Issues

1.1. Reset Windows 10 Video Driver

For any screen issues, the video driver in Windows 10 can be restarted by doing the following:

  1. Press the Win + Ctrl +Shift + B keys.
  2. The screen will go blank for a second and you will hear a beep.
  3. Everything will go back to normal immediately.



2. Windows Laptops

2.1. Show your screen on a projector

To project your laptop display through the projector:

1. First ensure your laptop is properly connected to the rooms AV system.

2. from the keyboard, press the Windows key and the P key simultaneously.

3. When the on-screen display appears, select "Duplicate" and press enter.


3. Windows Desktops

3.1. Run Windows Update

For Windows 10:

1. In Type here to search, type in Windows Update. Click on Windows Update Settings.


2. Click on Download Now or Install Now.


3. After the updates have finished downloading and installing, click on Restart now. Allow the computer to fully restart.

Remember to keep the device on and plugged in.


4. Your device is now fully updated. Make sure to regularly restart your Windows device to push important Windows updates.


4. Accessing the Drive

4.1. Accessing the Shared/Personal Drive

  1. To start please click the “File Explorer” App on the bottom of your screen.
    1. You can either do the following 3 options:
    2. Option 1: Select the folder
    3. Option 2: Type in the search bar “File Explorer App.  
    4. Option 3: Press the Windows Key and E

 


     2. Please select “This PC” on the left hand side of the page

 

 

 

 

     3. Click the “Computer” tab located on the top of the page

 

 

 

    4. Click on “Map Network Drive” tab located on the top of the page

 

 

 

    5. Select an available drive and then in the folder section type in the following:

 

    1. For the West Campus:
      1. Shared Folder type in:  \\wcfs\shared$
      2. Personal Folder type in: \\wcfs\users$
    1. For East Campus:
      1. Shared Folder type in: \\ecfs\shared$
      2. Personal Folder type in: \\ecfs\users$

Connecting off campus? Make sure to type the following instead:

    1. For the West Campus:
      1. Shared Folder type in: \\wcfs.bwscampus.local\shared$
      2. Personal Folder type in: \\wcfs.bwscampus.local\users$
    2. For East Campus: 
      1. Shared Folder type in: \\ecfs.bwscampus.local\shared$
      2. Personal Folder type in: \\ecfs.bwscampus.local\users$



    6. Then click finish

 

 

 

 *Please note: If this is the first time you are connecting to the server, you will be prompted to enter your Brentwood credentials.
